When your CMS needs an upgrade and how to upgrade successfully

Rubrik, a cloud data management company based in Palo Alto, California, has built its first website on a budget in WordPress. That worked well in the beginning, but as the company grew, the platform couldn’t keep up. The website was struggling with stability and performance issues. The company’s marketers depended on IT to release updates, and content could not be easily reused.

Tim Chen, director of web marketing at Rubrik, advocated replacing WordPress with a modern content management system (CMS). He was convinced that marketers must be able to publish content on their own. “If developers have to update a bunch of pages, they’re just wasting their time,” he said. Chen was able to convince the IT executives by explaining how the new platform could improve the website’s stability, security and compliance. Together with those responsible for marketing, he underlined the opportunities to accelerate the expansion of the pipeline and bring content to the market faster.
