Following the March release of Java 20, Oracle presented Java 21, the second update to the computer language in 2023. The most recent version of Java introduces a plethora of improvements intended to increase developer efficiency, improve application speed, and meet the development requirements for artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). Notably, Oracle’s promise to at least eight years of long-term support for Java 21 intends to give businesses flexibility when moving their applications. In addition, Java 11 support has been extended through January 2032.
