In the Oracle-Google Copyright Case, the jury hears closing arguments.
A jury will hear a long-running lawsuit today regarding alleged copyright infringement by Google’s Android operating system on Oracle’s Java platform. Google has previously been the beneficiary of court rulings, but the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit partially overturned those rulings two years ago. U.S. District Court Judge William Alsup received the complaint back from Google after the U.S. Supreme Court denied Google’s request for review last year. The complaint revolves around whether Google’s usage of specific Java application programming interfaces (APIs) in Android meets “fair use.”
